Farmers can not live on your empty promises and speeches
Uddhav Thackrey slams BJP
Mumbai: Shivsena chief Uddhav Thackrey has once again slammed BJP on the issue of farmer’s suicides in Maharashtra through an editorial published in party mouthpiece Saamna. In a strongly worded editorial, Thackrey said that, it is a shame on Maharashtra that the state is on number one position in the matter of farmer’s suicide. The farmers can not live on empty promises and speeches. He warned the government to recognize the anger in farmer’s minds or the farmer who is ending his life by hanging himself , can wrap the noose around the government.
In a scathing attack on BJP government, he said that, In the last four years, more than 11 thousand farmers have committed suicides in Maharashtra. The political parties and media is engaged in political analysis of elections in five states. But in this clamor, the seriousness of data of farmer’s suicides can not be neglected. In Congress regime, the people who were criticizing that the farmer’s suicides are actually murders, are in power now. Still, the farmer’s suicides have not stopped.
Squarely blaming the government for farmers deaths, Uddhav Thackrey has asked the government to keep aside the politics now and prepare a comprehensive policy to stop farmer’s suicides on war footing. He alleged that the government’s announcement of loan waiver was fraudulent and farmers feel that they are cheated by government. They think that the government, irrespective of party, can not change their agony and grief. He raised a question that, what government machinery is exactly doing to prevent farmer’s suicides? He asked dolefully that, how much time we should watch the farmer’s deaths silently? He writes aggressively that why the government officers sitting in Mantralaya fail to understand the reality about farmer’s reason of poverty that they do not get the rate equaling to production cost? Uddhav Thackrey has time and again criticized BJP government in center as well as state, but this time he has attacked very aggressively on farmer’s issue.
